About the Firm

James McCarty is a worker’s compensation attorney licensed in Nevada and Nebraska. James has extensive experience in worker’s compensation litigation and has worked as an attorney in Reno, Nevada for thirty-four years. 

James received his Juris Doctorate from Creighton University in 1983 and thereafter accepted a position as Deputy Dodge County Attorney in Fremont, Nebraska. Mr. McCarty served in this role until he moved to Nevada in January of 1985.

In Nevada, James began working for Judge Michael Fondi and began practicing in a private law firm in Reno in 1986. James continued to gain litigation experience and began to focus his area of practice in Workers Compensation when he began working for the State Industrial Insurance System in 1988.

James has had the opportunity to work with employers, insurers, and injured workers  representing  their interests through all facets of workers compensation law. He is one of the few attorneys in all of Nevada to have represented parties from every side of a workers compensation claim, making him diverse in this law and confident in properly litigating any kind of issue arising from a workers compensation claim.
